The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) invested €113 million in Kosovo across 19 projects in 2024, surpassing the €81 million allocated to 16 projects the previous year.
With 80% of funding directed towards green initiatives and 11 projects incorporating gender components, the EBRD reinforced its focus on sustainability and equality. The majority of investments (17 projects) targeted private sector growth.
Notably, the bank approved its largest-ever loan in Kosovo—€50 million for energy efficiency in 400 public buildings—and a €25 million sovereign loan for water infrastructure improvements.
Since 2008, the EBRD’s total investment in Kosovo has reached €770 million.
